The College Ministry at The Port is the heartbeat of of our church. We value our college students greatly and we want to do whatever we can to serve them while they are with us. We realize that many of our college students may only be with us for 1 to 4 years, but we want them to feel like they are a part of our family when they are with us and when they are gone. Our college students bring an energy and a passion to our church that is contagious and we owe it to them to give something back.

It is the hope of ours at The Port, that we can reverse the trend that students stop being engaged with the local church when they head to college. We aim to reach those college students that do not have a relationship with Jesus, as well as, those that have been disconnected from church for whatever reason.
College is time when it is really easy to disconnect from our relationship with Jesus, or even begin to question what that relationship was to begin with. For many college students, college is the first time they begin to ask real questions. At The Port, it is our mission to help college students discover the answers to those challenging questions, so instead of falling away from Jesus in college, they actually grow as disciples.
Many say you can't build a church with college students. The fact is, we don't care what other people say. We realize college students are probably only going to be with us 1-4 years, but our hope is when they do leave us, they are ready to serve. They are ready to serve the community the go to, they are ready to serve the church they go to, or maybe even ready to serve the family they are about to start.
Initiatives For The Port College Students
At The Port, we're interested in seeing our college students connect with ministry opportunities while they are in college and before they graduate. We care about our college students present and their future. We want to be actively involved in helping them discern and live out God's calling on their life. Two of the initiatives that we partner with are the Timothy Initiative and Go2. These initiatives offer college students opportunities to serve in country and over seas.
